I got my guitar last night. It was actually a quite a little trip. My 2 older cousin, Alex and Billy, my baby cousin, Jasmine and my mom came with me. We first ate at McDonald's, yeah I wasn't sure if that was for Jasmine or me :) I can say we both equally wanted it.
My cousin, Billy, helped me pick out a guitar. I absolutely love it! It's a wood color and because I'm not exactly a teen with a musical prodigy... that's all I can tell you about my guitar (: Oh... and it has six strings.
My forefinger, middle finger and ring finger hurts like crazy because I worked practically all night to learn a few notes. Billy sat with me for about an hour because he knows a little on playing the guitar. He showed me the basic notes that I should learn first then some songs that he learned to play when he was younger. Let's just say if playing music was really like breathing, I'd suffocate. I'm pretty sure my strumming skills aren't to die for either. But hey, let's not down my abilities. Give me a few years and guitar lessons and I could be the next Alyssa Bernal!
So after a night of playing the guitar, of course I wake up to a day full of what I was so not up for. Mrs. Tanteo, my adviser, texted me this morning asking me to come to her office with my mom. I totally freaked out when I read the message because I could not, even if it saved my life, could think of why she would want to speak to my mother. You wouldn't have guessed that I was a mess if you had been the one to read my reply message, I simply said 'Ok.'
So the part when we actually spoke to her was not bad at all. In fact, it was quite suprising. It was when we spoke to the department head of the Filipino. So for those who don't know, I'm Filipino but I was raised as an All American Girl minus the blonde hair blue eyes, now I moved back to the Philippines to finish high school. I can speak tagalog but it's like listening to a first grader when I'm reading it. Anyways, because I'm a transfer from a different country, I have to complete first year high school Social Studies and Filipino subject. The department head told me that for the week I was going to go to their office morning and afternoon for one on one classes. I was going to be doing a whole year of Filipino in just 4 days, starting tomorrow. I'll take tests, do some homework and make a fool of myself reading out loud.
But as much as I dread it, I'm so up for the challenge. Probably because I don't want to do anything that will jeopardize me graduating in just two weeks!
